Bio
Ben Grisz is an Innovation Leader and member of the internal venture capital and innovation team within IBM Research and IBM Corporate Strategy. He finds, evaluates, and supports project opportunities that use experiential selling, PoCs, and demonstrations to win large deals in strategically important and innovative areas for IBM. He is currently interested in finding and supporting groundbreaking project ideas involving Generative AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
Previously, Mr. Grisz was a Data Scientist in IBM Consulting, where he led teams of developers and data scientists in the design and build of innovative business solutions. He has performed client work in many domains, including but not limited to international shipping, product promotion scheduling, target market sizing, predictive maintenance, logistics reporting, and variable compensation. He has used a wide variety of data science techniques on real client business problems, including deep learning, optimization using genetic algorithms, time series forecasting, complex regressions, root cause analysis, geospatial mapping and overlay, and predictive analytics.
Mr. Grisz received his M.S. in Business Analytics from the University of Texas McCombs Business School, where he served as the elected student representative in the Graduate Student Assembly, and his B.S. in Economics from Duke, where he played varsity baseball and graduated in 3 years. He has two patents from his work in IBM Consulting: one for the predictive maintenance of commercial refrigerators, and another for a multi-phase consolidation optimization tool for arranging items into groups for optimal reporting structure.
