Stephanie Julia Muller

Stephanie is a Technical Lead for the Healthcare team at IBM Research South Africa. The Healthcare portfolio includes work in Adaptive Clinical Trials, Pharmacogenomics, and Drug development. The team leverages IBM technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum computing for developing novel methods for tackling some of the toughest challenges in healthcare. Previous projects in healthcare at the IBM Research Africa lab include developing AI technologies for tuberculosis and cancer research.

Stephanie holds a PhD in Human Genetics from Stellenbosch University and was a recipient of a doctoral SAMRC Internship Scholarship. She also holds an MSc in Bioinformatics from the South African National Bioinformatics Institute (SANBI) at the University of the Western Cape, and undergraduate degrees in Medical Bioscience from UWC.
