Blending digital and physical spaces for ubiquitous community participation
Abstract
Creation of online community spaces where people can meet, network, exchange and organize is discussed. Two online spaces, CHIplace and CSCWplace, uses large screens for interactive displays to mix online community information with content generated at the conference. Images were the most sought after content for plasma place viewers that accounted for 62 % where as personal profiles accounted for 19 %. Conference related content accounted for 8 % where as 6 % of the interactions related to scrolling, browsing and navigating content, to be followed by 5 % that involved seeking information about the online community spaces.
