CHARACTERIZATION OF POLYMER MIXTURES BY SMALL ANGLE X-RAY SCATTERING TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

Small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) has been a powerful means of understanding and characterizing a wide variety of polymer mixtures. SAXS can provide information on isolated molecules of one polymer immersed in a matrix of another polymer or can be used to characterize the morphological features of a concentrated semicrystalline polymer mixture. This article reviews the applications of SAXS in different types of polymer mixtures and presents some future applications of SAXS in studying blends.
