We present calculations on the elastic quantum resistance of a rough interface between two metals. Our results show that the resistance is basically determined by the ratio of the Fermi energies of the two metals, and is surprisingly insensitive even to large-amplitude roughness. These quantum resistances have characteristic values in the range of 104-106 AI 2. © 1988 The American Physical Society.
