Electron detachment in Br-+He collisions: Potential energies for BrHe- and BrHe

Self-consistent-field calculations have been performed for the X 1 state of Br- + He and the X 2 and A 2 states of Br + He. The potential-energy curves indicate a threshold for electron detachment of 7.21.2 eV. No indication of a collision mechanism for detachment at lower energies is found. © 1979 The American Physical Society.
