Estimation of location and hand-off indicators in radio communication systems
Abstract
We describe a method for estimating deterministic components of signals in a colored noise background. This has applications in radio location or identification systems where deterministic tones are transmitted by a queried remote unit. The technique may also find use in radio communications systems where hand-off indicators such as received signal strength need to be measured in an unknown noise background.
