Evolving visual metaphors and dynamic tools for bioinformatics visualization
Abstract
The evolving of visual metaphors and dynamic tools for bioinformatics visualization is discussed. Bioinformatics softwares are generally text-based where letters and numbers are displayed as a sequence. The basic information visualization methods that apply simple color coding techniques to these text-based bioinformatics tools and develop graphical interfaces have been evolved. The systems under development are web-based systems that support simultaneous, linked access to disparate databases and dynamic visual discovery among geographically dispersed researchers.
