Abstract
The GaAs double-heterostructure laser promises to be an attractive source for optical communication links; both technically, due to its high radiance and quantum efficiency, and economically, due to the planar processes by which it is fabricated into single units or linear arrays of devices. © 1977 Optical Society of America
