Some results of an investigation of magnetic bubble domains in thin hexaferrite crystals using Lorentz microscopy are presented. The structure of the bubble domains is discussed and the methods used to produce them are described. With the use of variable bias field and pulsed magnetic fields in the electron microscope, changes of state in bubbles and switching of bubble wall chirality could be observed directly.
