Affects that electronic participation in a local infocity can have on everyday lives in local communities in the physical world are discussed. Net-based volunteer fairs, norms and procedures and participant obligations are some of the social tools that can be used to integrate electronic and face-to-face participation. Donations can be made to local charities through click-and-give sites or e-commerce sites and local businesses. Services of local government offices and agencies can also be rated through some specific sites. Strict registration and verification of identity and residency norms are required to create the psychological safety zone for increased local electronic participation.
