Motion features relevant to mild cognitive impairment in dual-task walking: A preliminary study

We explored features for discriminating mild cognitive impairment from behavioral data. We conducted four types of dual-task walking assessments, involving either motor or cognitive tasks performed simultaneously with walking, on older individuals diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and cognitively normal older adults. These assessments were measured using motion capture. The results of the analysis revealed that under cognitive task conditions, the group with mild cognitive impairment exhibited significantly slower walking speeds, higher variability in walking speeds, and significantly reduced forward movement.
