New aliphatic (co)polyesters were prepared from the synthesis of functional lactone monomers. The monomers served to modify the known biodegradable and biocompatible poly(ε-caprolactone) and poly(L,L-lactide) helping to provide new applications in the biomedical field. The interest in the new aliphatic polyesters was driven by the need of increasing the reactivity-affinity towards inorganic-organic matrixes in the design of new porogens for low dielectric nanoporous materials.
