SDN control for hybrid OCS/electrical datacenter networks: An enabler or just a convenience?

A new SDN control plane architecture for hybrid optical/electrical switch networks is demonstrated. Compared to traditional VLAN-based control, our OpenFlow implementation is more scalable and enables faster reconfiguration of multihop or multipath networks. © 2013 IEEE.
