Towards the use of quantum computers for chemistry simulations
Abstract
Most chemists who’ve done traditional benchwork understand that hours, months, and even years can be devoted to trying to understand how the chemistry is occurring inside the flask and being able to control it. Complete mechanistic understanding of molecular processes stem from a combination of lab experiments and computation and are critical for developing low-energy and sustainable processes. In this talk, I will discuss how quantum computing can be used for chemistry simulations today, how it may be used in the future, and show illustrative recent research examples.
