Uniqueness of the orbital angular momentum operators

In a separable Hilbert space in which the three Cartesian coordinates form a complete set of commuting variables, it is proved that Hermitian operators which satisfy the commutation relations for the angular momentum operators are unique within a unitary transformation. © 1960 Società Italiana di Fisica.
