Bio

Dr. Andrea Bartezzaghi is a Research Scientist in the AI Automation group. At IBM Research since early 2019, he is developing AI-based solutions for the automation of Visual Inspection. While researching topics as instance and semantic segmentation, anomaly detection, training of vision foundation models, parameter efficient fine-tuning, he focuses heavily also on the design and development the services meant to expose this research to users and clients, including the architecture of cloud solutions and dev-ops.

Dr. Bartezzaghi received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2010 and 2013, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland) in 2017. His research interests are in the field of Automation of AI, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, High Performance Computing, Computational Mathematics.
