Bio

Vadim Ratner is a computer scientist with experience in electrical engineering, applied math and biomedical imaging. He has more than 10 years of experience in the field of computer vision in both academia and industry, and 5 years in software development.

He received his PhD and BsC degrees from the Technion. Before joining IBM he held positions of a research associate in Stony Brook University and an algorithm researcher in Emza - Visual Sense.

Within IBM, Vadim has worked DNN-based algorithms for analysis and diagnosis of breast ultrasound and images, and on transformer-based analysis of patient electronic health records. He is currently working on protein-peptide affinity prediction.

His current research interests include deep learning and optimization problems with applications in object detection and classification, text and structured data analysis and protein synthesis, analysis and interaction.
