450Mb/s throughput subcarrier multiple-access network using 790NM self-pulsating laser transmitters

Abstract

We describe a new subcarrier multiplexed, optical multiple-access network experiment which features self-pulsating 790 nm laser transmitters. The achievement of 450 Mb/s throughput across three channels indicates possible applications for this technology in computer data networks.
