Demonstrating MMorph: A System for Morphing Music in Real-Time

Abstract

MMorph is an interactive system for morphing music in real-time. Morphing music sources of diverse styles and different keys produces a smooth and gradual transition from one to the other. During the transition the listener perceives musical characteristics from one source gradually becoming less prominent as those of the other sources become dominant. We will demonstrate MMorph with diverse musical styles, including Baroque, Classical, Jazz, Tango, and Latin Percussion. The morphing engine will be explained, and its potential for music composition and performance will be discussed.
