Within the past few years, there has been increasing interest in the formal description of user interfaces [2], [5], [6], [7], [8]. The work to be discussed in this paper is a continuation of previous work in this area [7]. The intent of this work is to develop formal grammar into an analytic, predictive tool to aid design of man-machine interfaces. There are three major ideas to be discussed.
