Anna Fischer

Bio

Dr. Anna Fischer is a postdoctoral researcher working on integrated and co-packaged optics. Since September 2024, she is part of the Neuromorphic Devices and Systems Group at IBM Research Zurich.

Anna holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Imperial College London (2024). In February 2023, she joined the Quantum Transduction and Photonics group at IBM Research Zurich as a PhD candidate. Her doctoral research was focused on integration and lasing control of complex III-V microlaser systems on-chip. This includes studies on coupling in microdisk lasers, plasmonic surface lattice resonance lasers, random network lasers, and their applications for physical machine learning. She was part of the H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks project on Controlling network random lasers on chip (CORAL). During this project, she conducted the first half of her Ph.D. at Imperial College London before joining IBM for the second half.

Anna holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry and Physics (2021) and a B.Sc. in Interdisciplinary Sciences (2018) from ETH Zurich.
