My interests lie at the intersection of AI/ML and database engines. My current focus is on query processing and optimization in lakehouse systems.
In the past, I built ML-driven systems for big data integration and predictive analytics which require minimum training data. I developed active learning-based solutions for data integration problems such as semantic schema (ontology) matching and entity matching. Towards enabling AI-assisted data exploration, I worked on predicting the analytical queries issued by the user in SQL and natural language variants for Business Intelligence (BI) applications and other related problems such as cardinality estimation.
I graduated with a Ph.D in Computer Science from Arizona State University under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Sarwat and obtained an M.S. degree from the National University of Singapore where I was advised by Prof. Kian-Lee Tan. My B.Tech degree was from Vellore Institute of Technology.
